And now…the Homer Simpson quote of the day

Posted by Shannon on August 3, 2006

When talking to Bart after being expelled from school, Homer says:

Yeah, and if you get kicked out of that one you’re going straight in the army where you’ll be sent straight to America’s latest military quagmire. Where will it be? North Korea? Iran? Anything’s possible with Commander Cuckoo-Bananas in charge.

The Quest Continues

Posted by Shannon on August 3, 2006

So the last few days, I’ve been looking in the mirror and finally I’m starting to see some changes in my apperance. Three weeks and I see something! That’s what I’m talking about. My face looks like it has lot some fat in my cheeks. A good thing, since I don’t need the extra space to shave anyways.

Other changes that I’ve noticed. My biceps and triceps, I believe, are a little bigger. That or my muscles are just being used more.

I’m still going to the gym six days a week - does that make me a gym rat - for about an hour to 90 minutes at a time. I’ve felt really good about my workout this week, unlike last week where I felt like I was going through the motions. The difference is that I believe I am getting more of a complete workout on the treadmill, using medicine balls, weights, and everything else. The thing I have to remember is to stretch more. I almost felt something pull last night, so I need to be more careful. It’s funny, stretching was one of my least favorite things to do in sports, now I see the importance of the 5 minutes before and after a set.
