More trouble for Bengals, WVU players

Posted by Shannon on June 19, 2007

Add Quincy Wilson to the growing list of Cincinnati Bengals players wanted by the police. You can also add him to that same growing list of recent players who played at West Virginia University who have had run ins with the law.

Wilson is among 15 people wanted by police for disturbance following a wedding celebration Saturday night in West Virginia. According to media reports, Wilson and company refused to comply with Huntington police requests to leave a bar at 3 a.m., early Sunday morning. Wilson could face disorderly conduct and - maybe - obstruction of justice charges following the incident.

He becomes the 10th member of the Cincinnati Penal League Bengals in 14 months. The former West Virginia University running back is also the third Mountaineer to have trouble with the law. Others include, Tennessee Titan Adam “PacMan” Jones, who is in some recent trouble of his own, and fellow Bengal Chris Henry.

Wilson is perhaps best known for “The Play” against the University of Miami, where he popped Brandon Meriweather and jumped over him en route to a late touchdown to give the Mountaineers the lead. They would eventually lose the game.

Wilson is also a former Kennedy Award winner, given to the top high school football player in West Virginia.
