PacMan should be fired from NFL

Adam “PacMan” Jones should be fired from the NFL.

Not just cut from the Tennessee Titans with the ability to seek other employment as a defensive back in the NFL, but fired. Terminated. Kicked out of a league that has given the defensive back too many opportunities to turn his life around, which Jones has failed to do.

Jones, the former defensive back from West Virginia University, was the sixth pick in the 2005 draft. Since then, Jones has been in and out of police departments on numerous charges, the latest two counts of felony coercion for his alleged role in a Las Vegas strip club incident in February during the NBA All-Star Game festivities.

Currently, Jones is on a one-year suspension from the NFL because of his off-the-field issues. How about a lifetime ban from the NFL? Jones clearly doesn’t understand that playing in the NFL is not a right guaranteed to him because of his playing ability.

The Titans could use Jones’ talent in the field and not sitting on the sidelines. Jones is a great player, with amazing speed, especially in the return game. Instead, Jones is more concerned about living the party life and hanging with the wrong crowd that constantly leads to trouble. Perhaps Jones needs to pay attention to the line a friend has said multiple times, “Nothing good happens after midnight.”

It appears the Titans are finished answering for Jones. That’s a good thing.

Jeff Fisher told USA Today that he will no longer comment about Jones. In the same article, quarterback Vince Young says it’s not impossible for Jones to be back with the Titans, but also asked “does he care about us over here?”

Jones must pay the penalty for his actions and that could lead to jail time and perhaps it’s time for the NFL to wash their hands of him.
