Thank You

Posted by Shannon on August 14, 2007

Tonight, I was reminded of one of the most important phone calls I’ve made in my life. Who am I kidding? It was the most important phone call I have made in life.

The phone call was to my church that I’m now attending to learn about the church. I had been attending a church in Durham, but I didn’t feel loved, cared for, or fed. I needed a change. Fortunately, God sent me to the place He knew I needed to be at.  God has a great way of working those things out.

In the two years since that call was made, I’ve seen my life transformed from the hands in the pocket guy wondering what in the world is all this fancy music in a Methodist Church, to a guy who is hugging everyone with arms raised high. Perhaps more importantly, I’m a guy who has been forgiven, cared for, and fed in ways that I’ve never been fed before in my life. Strangely enough, it was probably the first time, even though I had been a Christian all my life, that I really felt God in my life, breathing into me, and working to mold me into His purpose and plan for my life.

Who knew that would take me on this road that I’ve been on? Next Friday, I load up the trucks and head to West Virginia for the day. Then next Saturday, I move to Asbury Theological Seminary to start The Journey, my wilderness time to learn about God and what this call to ministry looks like. I think it’s changing from where it was a year ago to where it is now and I think that is a good thing, because it means God is at work in all of this.

But, I wanted to take this time to say thank you to some people, some whom I know who read the blog and others who may need a link provided to them so they can be red faced. So bare with me for a posting as I try to say thank you for some amazing time and memories. I’m going to miss being apart of this group on a daily basis.
