Down Goes the WVU Jacket
Posted by Shannon on March 11, 2008
A few years ago, I bought an imitation leather jacket for $9.95 from this find retailer in Morgantown, W.Va.
Four years later, that jacket I wear religiously in cold weather has been deposed. Sent to the garbage. Given it’s final resting place in the sand. Why? Because it was time. The jacket had served it’s purpose and it was time to move on.
And since many of you won’t believe me … here is proof.

I am a little unnerved by the end of an era. I have never known non-WVU Jacket Shannon. I am a little scared.

Yeah!!!!! I’m sending you a jacket with a big #3 on the back…

Greg,
That’s awesome, man. I’m getting a big laugh over here. What would non-WVU jacket Shannon be like? I think I’m a little scared.
And Loren, I used to have a jacket with a big No. 3 on the back. I wonder what happened to it. I think I lost it.

I can’t see Shannon without the WVU jacket. I can’t remember a time when you didn’t have it. Things will be different for sure.
Btw, who you got in the Final 4?

It’s dawned on me since I threw the jacket away that none of my friends, through these comments, have seen me without the jacket. This is a little strange, especially if it gets cold here in the coming days.
In fact, the only people who know pre-WVU jacket Shannon … are only maybe one or two people back in W.Va., and my family of course. The jacket served it’s time, but it’s enjoying its nap at the bottom of the garbage.
Final Four — we’ll wait til Sunday when the brackets come out.
