I Could Go Without Seeing Another Hot Dog

I’m not that great of a cook. I believe we’ve established this that my cooking abilities leave a lot to be desired. So, it should come as a shock to everyone that I made, we believe, over 100 hot dogs last night.
And no one got sick. We think.
I was helping a friend of mine last night with her Easter Egg hunt at her church. As she organized some games, crafts, and started to hide eggs, I attempted to get my way through string that had been tangled for what had been years to hang a sign. (I eventually got the knots out only to see them come back together when I laid everything back down.) After that failed, I turned my attention to the hot dogs.
At least 5 packages of hot dogs boiling in hot water with me as your cook. This should be interesting. Everything went well, but I’ve not seen that many hot dogs in years. Probably was when hot dogs was the food of choice at the Pocono race I covered in 2001. I believe I stopped eat hot dogs for a good while after that.
The same will hold true after last night. I’m on a complete No Hot Dog diet at least until Spring break and the Tampa Bay-Hurricanes game, if I get in there for it. Even then, I believe the No Hot Dog diet will stay in play.
But, hey, as much as I make fun of my cooking or making more than 100 hot dogs in less than an hour, it was great to be able to do that for my friend, her church, and her kids. Maybe next time I’ll just make peanut butter and jelly.
