Big Texas, Preacher for the Day

Posted by Shannon on April 13, 2008

Well, it was going to happen. At some point in my seminary travels, it was going to happen. And today it happened.

The first sermon that I’ll ever give is coming and it’s coming soon. May 4 to be exact, just three Sundays away. I’ll be preaching at the church that I’ve been serving as its youth pastor for the past few months. Don’t ask me what I’m preaching on yet, other than I know it’ll have something to do with Ascension Sunday.

I’m already nervous and maybe that bit of nerves will get my mind off the flight this week and the multitude of assignments I have due in the coming days.

Luckily, having to prepare several weeks of youth discussions will help in my preparation. I’ve gotten pretty handy with online commentaries and Textweek.com on Saturday evenings when I’m preparing my talk. (Yes, I already realize I’m going to have to put double time on this talk.)

I just hope it goes well and I don’t end up looking like this guy or this guy from the pulpit.

    PISS ON THE WALL!!! LOL

I saw that Bennie Hinn video about a month ago and I about fell out of my seat. It goes well with the music.

Like I said, I’m going to try my best not to be like either two.
