It’s Going to be a Hot Summer

Posted by Shannon on April 14, 2008

I learned today where I’m going for the summer.

Bayou La Batre, Alabama.

I’ve never been there, but I believe scenes from Forrest Gump were shot there.

But there will be a lot of good things taking place there this summer. For one, as a friend of mine said, 10 weeks in the pressure cooker that is the Gulf of Mexico and it’s going to be Hot, Hot, Hot, and the weight is going to fall off.

It’s certainly not the fish out of the water scenario as I expected, but I’m excited about it.

So, SEC country … here I come.

I hope you enjoy the deep south man. You’re right, that’s SEC country!

Take your sunscreen and a hat. 90+ degree days with high humidity will get to you. But personally, I’d rather it be 90 than 40. I guess I’m just a southerner by nature.

Oh, I don’t mind a good 90 degree day. It’s 100 of them in a row that gets me. I’m going to pack a lot of sunscreen and make sure I pick out a good hat this weekend at training.

One thing is for sure, bye bye weight.

    Wear a houndstooth hat…

    A what?

  5. toddzilla Says:

The ol’ Bear Bryant houndstooth hat…

  6. Shannon Says:

Yeah, after I posted that I realized what it was.
