SPRC Approved

Posted by Shannon on May 19, 2008

One down, several more steps to go.

Yesterday, I received the long-awaited approval from my home church’s SPRC. It is just one of many votes of approval that I will need over the next few years to complete my ordination process. The next vote of approval should come from the full charge conference of the church in the coming weeks.

I will admit to being humbled and really emotional by the committee’s decision. Last year, I was naive with the ramifications of what this calling meant and  was told to come back in a  year. I did and it was a great interview where I felt comfortable, at ease, and the big thing … confident. Confidence is something I did not show last year.

Had I not been approved yesterday, it probably would’ve meant either the end of seminary or moving over into another program.

So this is a great present to end the school term on a high note and will give me some high hopes heading into the summer. Now, onward to the District Board on Ministry at some point.

I guess this means I have to get my paper work turned in, now.
